Canva is a graphic design platform that allows users to create a range of visual content, including social media graphics, presentations and posters.

Currently I am employed at Canva as a Frontend Engineer for the Marketplace team, where we are responsible for building and maintaining the range of SEO-facing search pages present within the platform (Templates, Photos, and Icons). This has required me to focus on technical skills that I have not previously acquired, including optimising page performance and SEO.

Recent projects that I have both managed and worked on have helped to improve page performance by 60%, and has allowed us to rank 1st for some Google search pages (e.g. search for "free templates")!

For just over 2 years I was employed at iP Edge, a web consultancy company primarily focusing on web app and mobile development.

Within this role, I was encouraged to step out of my comfort zone and into the world of full-stack development, utilising technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, .Net Core, SQL, jQuery and ReactJS. Additionally, working across a range of projects required me to effectively switch between different contexts in order to accommodate the different clients and stakeholders we provided our services to.

For six months I was employed by Loanflare - a Fintech start-up company specialising in the mortgage broking industry, who aimed to provide mortgage brokers with a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.

This role was my first ever professional experience within the industry, and birthed my gradual and eventual love for ReactJS.
