UTS Cyber Security Society Executive Team

2020 - Current

The UTS Cyber Security Society is a student run group that strives to promote cyber security at the University of Technology Sydney.

As it’s my final year here at UTS, I decided it was a good opportunity to give back to the society that brought me so much joy in 2019, and become a member of their executive team.

One of my goals during my time as an executive is to try and make cybersecurity more accessible for Software Engineering students. During my Software Engineering degree at UTS, there weren’t many opportunities to learn the basics of cybersecurity. As a result, I noticed many students are learning how to program and develop applications, but struggling to code from a security-oriented mindset.

Due to the pandemic, we’ve faced some challenges regarding how to provide resources and workshops to our members. However, in April I successfully ran our first online workshop, which was aimed to teach our members how to create an online portfolio.

Surf Life Saving

2016 - Current

Since 2016, I have been an active life saver. During the summer periods, my weekends are spent patrolling my local beach - providing first aid and emergency care and providing surf safety information to the public.

Patrolling requires fundamental service and teamwork skills of which I am able to transition into teamwork-oriented experiences within the professional workplace.
